Ahead of the 2023 elections, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi on Wednesday, June 22, paid a visit to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers at his private residence in Port Harcourt.
On arrival, Obi was taken inside where he had a meeting with the governor behind closed-doors.
Quest Times understands this is coming on the heels of speculations that Wike is aggrieved and might work against the party ahead of the 2023 elections following the internal crisis in the PDP.

Recall that until his defection to the Labour Party days to the Presidential Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obi and Wike were presidential aspirants of the PDP.
While Wike insisted on remaining in the PDP, Obi decided to join the Labour Party to become the party’s flag-bearer for the 2023 presidential election.
On the reason for his visit to the Rivers governor, Obi said the meeting was basically to discuss issues of national interest. He however refused to mention the key issues they both discussed.
“Earlier today, I visited Port-Harcourt, to confer with H.E.
@GovWike on vital issues of national interest. -PO,” he tweeted.
