Super Eagles stars Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen stole the show as Serie A leaders Napoli travelled to their closest challengers Atalanta on Saturday evening.
The forwards have been instrumental to their sides’ push for Serie A glory prior to their meeting, with Lookman scoring 5 in 12 league appearances for Atalanta, while Osimhen has bagged 7 goals in 8 games for Napoli.
The two continued their impressive form in what turned out to be an entertaining encounter dubbed the “Nigerian Derby” in sections of the Italian media.

A handball from Osimhen saw Atalanta rewarded with a penalty, which in-form forward Lookman dispatched in the 19th minute.
Osimhen redeemed himself just four minutes later, scoring a header from a well-placed Piotr Zielinski cross.
The 23-year-old forward was at it again, showing strength to hold off Atalanta defender, Merih Demiral to send a well-placed pass to Eljif Elmas whose well-placed shot ended in the back of the net courtesy of a deflection.
In the second half, Joakim Mæhle made a sensational solo run into the Napoli box, But neither he nor Lookman could find a finish, eventually hitting the bar once and missing a golden chance.
Napoli ran out 2-1 winners maintaining their lead at the top of Serie A while extending their unbeaten run to 13 league games. Atalanta dropped to 3rd, following Milan’s 2-1 win against Spezia.
