The vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has challenged the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, to the political battlefield, if he’s sure he’s physically and mentally okay.
Baba-Ahmed said he’s not in the best position to say whether Tinubu is sick or not.
Baba-Ahmed made the remark while speaking at an Abuja press conference on Thursday, December 1.
He said if the APC chieftain knows he’s not sick, he should join him on the battlefield and get beat up.
Yusuf Datti said that the country is bigger than the political ambition of any candidate, referencing the oft quoted comment of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said: “Bola Ahmed Tinubu claims to be a godfather. He can continue to be a godfather if Nigeria’s presidency is not for him. It is not in our place (Peter Obi and myself) to tell him that he is sick. Please go and relax, and if you think you can’t, be our guest.
“Come to the battlefield; we’ll beat you, and even in doing that, we’ll show respect to you. When we beat you, we’ll take you back home and show you how we will handle Nigeria.”
