Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje believes the emergence of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi is a good omen for the All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The governor made the assertion when he was featured on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ Programme, which was monitored by Quest Times on Monday.
According to him, Peter Obi would help divide the South East votes, hence, reducing the chances of PDP in the region.

“The emergence of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi is a good omen for our party (APC) and a threat to our major opposition (PDP) because he will snatch away their votes in the South East,” he said.
Speaking on plans by the APC’s standard-bearer, Bola Tinubu to seek the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso’s support in winning Kano, he maintained that their doors are open if the need arises.
“There is no doubt if we fall into that situation of seeking Kwankwaso’s support we’ll do so as we can’t close our doors.”
The governor reiterated that APC remains a party to beat in Kano, noting that internal grudges are there to strengthen the party.
“We are fully grounded to deliver Kano for the APC presidential candidate. We have more followers considering the 1 million march for the party,” he boasted.
