A 19-year-old herdsman, Umaru Mohammed, was on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, arraigned in Magistrates’ Court, Iyaganku, Ibadan, for alleged unlawful possession of 16 rounds of live ammunition.
The Police charged Umaru of undisclosed address on one-count of alleged unlawful possession of live ammunition.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Oluyemi Eyiaromi, told the court that Umaru on July 13, at about 9:00 a.m. in the Ojoo area of Ibadan, had in his possession, 16 rounds of live ammunition unlawfully.

Eyiaromi alleged that the defendant could not give a satisfactory account of the ammunition and had intended to use it to commit a felony within the Ojoo area.
He said the offence contravened Section 417 (d) of the Laws of Oyo State, 2000. The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs T. B. Oyekanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Oyekanmi adjourned the matter until Sept. 8, for hearing.
