Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Friday, disclosed that he stopped the Labour Party members from accessing Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium because of the short notice given by the party.

Obaseki said Labour Party’s notice for approval arrived too soon, considering the fact that the stadium is still under warranty, hence, the reason for denying the LP access to the facility.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, which was monitored by Quest Times, Obaseki said the government received the notice 24 hours to the event.
“The tracks for that stadium are still under warranty.

“The pitch has to be maintained in a certain mould. So it’s not just another facility you can use without preparing,” he said.
He added; “I expected more from the Labour party; I thought they were more serious.”
The development comes barely 24 hours after Abia State Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, also stopped the rally scheduled to welcome the Labour Party presidential candidate to his State on Thursday, November 10.
