A cross section of Nigerians on Thursday reacted to the presidential handshake received by Nigeria’s World Championship athlete, Tobi Amusan.
Quest Times had earlier reported that Amusan and other 2022 Commonwealth Games medalists were conferred with national honours by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The award ceremony, which was held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in Abuja saw Tobi Amusan who took the 2022 CWG by storm, setting a world record en route to winning a gold medal, receive the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

A video of Amusan receiving her National Honour was posted on Twitter by presidential aide Bashir Ahmad, with the presidential handshake in tow.
Reacting, some Nigerians claimed heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua has been losing all his fights after meeting Mr. President, while expressing fears over Amusan’s career going down a similar path.
