Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has emerged the winner of the just-concluded presidential primary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, after polling the highest number of votes to become the party’s flag-bearer.
Earlier, Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa) stepped down for Tinubu while addressing the delegates shortly before the commencement of voting.
Former Speaker Dimeji Bankole, the former Governor of Ogun, Ibikunle Amosun, and the only female aspirant Mrs. Uju Kennedy Ohaneye also stepped down for the APC national leader.

Tinubu had to beat the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, and Senate President Ahmad Lawan, among other 10 aspirants to clinch the party’s ticket ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Senator Bola Tinubu was therefore declared winner of the poll by the Governor of Kebbi, Abubakar Bagudu, who also doubles as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential convention planning committee.
