There was mild tension in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu on Saturday as gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Eburummiri community, Ibagwa-Aka and abducted the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Victor Ishiwu.
The incident, which happened during the priest’s weekend all -night adoration with worshippers, saw the assailants, storm the church and shot continuously into the air.
Quest Times further gathered the shooting dispersed the worshippers who scampered for safety and ran in different directions.

“They (gunmen) gained access and whisked the cleric to an unknown destination. Since that time, we have not heard anything about the priest. Nobody has told us anything about whether the abductors have established contacts with anybody”, a source told The Nation.
Enugu Police Command spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, was not available for comments as at press time.
