Panic gripped the Enugu community when armed hoodlums, believed to be executing the usual sit-at-home order instituted by the pro-Biafra organization, IPOB, killed an elderly motorist and burnt two commercial Sienna buses and five tricycles fire in Enugu, Enugu state capital, in the early hours of Monday.
According to reports, the heinous incident occurred at the popular Liberty Bus Stop in Abakpa-Nike, Enugu East local government area.
According to reports, the armed men assaulted the always-busy bus stop around 5.30 a.m., shooting intermittently to scare away locals who were leaving their homes for the day’s work.

The dare-devils then set fire to two Sienna buses and tricycles that had been positioned to transport travelers from the area during the ensuing chaos.
Following that, the gunmen were alleged to have moved to the T-Junction, where they attempted to force an elderly man out of his car, but he refused, causing the enraged hoodlums to unlock his gasoline tank and shoot into it, resulting in flames that incinerated the guy inside his vehicle.
“They stopped the man and commanded him to step out of the car, the man resisted and that made the gunmen to open the fuel tank, shot into the tank making the car to go up in flames with the man inside,” an eyewitness said.
