Aggrieved members of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos have been advised to sheathe their swords and work for the good of the party.
This advice was given Friday by a UK-based Labour Party chieftain, Chief Daniel Matthews, during a chat with Quest Times on Friday. He traced the grievances of some party members to the position of Kayode Salako as the Lagos Labour Party Chairman by the party.
Quest Times had exclusively reported how some members of the party in Lagos on Thursday, November 3, staged a peaceful protest against the alleged imposition of Mr. Salako as chairman of the party in the State.

The protest was held after the launching of the book titled: “The Challenges of Good Governance and Leadership in Nigeria; The Peter Obi Factor” at the Welcome Centre Hotel in Lagos.
“All we (aggrieved members) are asking for is that Salako should leave Lagos Labour Party. We are calling on the National Chairman whom Salako claimed that he appointed him in person of Julius Abure to do the right thing,” the leader of the protesters, Omoba told Quest Times.
Reacting, Chief Daniel described the protest as an attempt to cause rancour in the party and appealed to the warring parties to sheathe their swords and allow peace to reign in the State.
“I’m appealing to everybody (aggrieved members) to sheathe their swords and embrace peace for the betterment of our great party. You have a leader in the person of Salako. Though he is not perfect, he (Salako) is doing his best. Why not support him?
“They (the aggrieved members) should guide him where he is falling short. He is not going to get it right because he is a human being but one thing is sure, he is trying his best to win Lagos. So, let’s give him the chance,” he said.
