Former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has said the separatists’ rhetoric adopted by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, will lead to the downfall of the former Governor of Anambra state.
According to him, the Labour Party candidate has already lost political ground with his viral video depicting him mocking Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Yoruba people.
Omokri made this assertion on Sunday via his verified Twitter handle.
He wrote “This is the message that @PeterObi claimed is from @officialABAT. Something that IPOB by night and Obidient by day people have been circulating on the Net for ages? Is Tinubu mad to accuse Obi of wanting to build a port in the SS, when SS already has many ports?”
The former Presidential aide said further that the video has already pitched him in antagonistic mode against Yoruba people. He said “Peter Obi, a man who refuses to defy IPOB sit at home orders in his own region, is spreading lies against the Yoruba. Accusing them of asking people not to vote for him because he will build a port in the SS. SS that already has at least 3 ports! No be juju be that?”
Responding to Obi’s message that Yoruba people will not vote for him because they fear the loss of Lagos ports to the South-South ports. He said “The Yoruba are not a threat to South-South ports. The South-South and Southwest have a long common history. Some of the first schools built in the Niger Delta were built by Awolowo. We must not allow @PeterObi divide us because he wants to win election by crook!”
He continued “That message is typical of IPOB. Tinubu people don’t operate that way. Asking Yoruba not to vote Peter Obi, because he will build a port in the South-South. First of all, there are already 3 ports in the SS (Ph, Warri and Koko). That message is from IPOB, not Tinubu.”
Omokri wondered why the Labour Party candidate even allowed separatists to decide for him with such message. He said; “I seriously doubt that that message @PeterObi claimed emanated from Tinubu is actually from @officialABAT. I know that the IPOB core around Peter are good at creating such messages and sending them out, claiming they are from Atiku and Tinubu. They’ve done it to me!”
