Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has lost the bid to reclaim the Senatorial ticket of Yobe North Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The judgement was delivered at the Court of Appeal on Monday in Abuja.
The Court of Appeal affirmed Bashir Sheriff as the authentic candidate of the APC for Yobe North Senatorial District of Yobe State.
Recall that a Federal High Court in Damaturu, Yobe State in September had ruled that Lawan is not the candidate of the ruling APC for the Senatorial District in next year’s election into the National Assembly.
QUEST TIMES earlier reported that the Senate President’s ambition hit the shipwreck after his bid to be APC presidential flag-bearer fell apart in June.
He was at some point touted as President Buhari’s anointed candidate, before he lost to the eventual winner, Bola Tinubu. The 63-year-old Senator had reportedly ran back to his constituency in a last ditch attempt to return to the Senate.
