Popular English singer, pianist and composer, Elton John has quit micro-blogging site, Twitter which was recently acquired by billionaire businessman, Elon Musk.
Elton John who made the announcement on Twitter said that he is quitting due to the recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked.
Nicknamed ‘Rocket Man’, he also noted in his post on Twitter that it saddens him to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.
He posted, ‘‘All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together. Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.
‘‘I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked.’’
