Two buses conveying 32 underaged children from Benue to Osun state have been intercepted by the police.

The kids were intercepted at Ameladu in Benue State yesterday.

The teenagers were in the care of one Mrs. Linda Akaasema who said that they were members of an orphanage named Akaasema Child Care Foundation.

The foundation, she said, is based in Osun State.

When pressed further, she said that the kids only came home for the Yuletide festivities.

She however failed to provide any evidence to prove those claims.

Nary a document as simple as an identity card of any sort was found with her.

In her defence, she claimed she forgot to carry identification documents with her.

There were 13 boys and 19 girls in the entourage.

She was also unable to provide any documents to identify herself, claiming she forgot all when leaving Osun state.

Police authorities have said that they’re looking into the matter, and will take the necessary actions once investigations are completed.
