The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed to Quest Times that singer Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, is dead.
Three-year-old Ifeanyi died in a swimming pool accident on the night of Monday, October 31, 2022.
The Adeleke family has been mum since rumours of Ifeanyi’s death flooded the internet space around midnight of Monday. However, Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, has just told Quest Times that the rumours are true.
“Yes, it is,” Hundeyin responded when asked if Ifeanyi Adeleke’s death rumours are true.
He also added that Davido’s domestic workers would be grilled to ascertain culpability or otherwise.
“His (Ifeanyi’s) death is confirmed. His (Davido’s) domestic workers have been brought in for questioning and anybody found not culpable will be allowed to go immediately.
“About eight of them were brought in to narrate their version of what happened to assist us in getting what really happened.
“At the end of their narrations, whoever that is found not guilty of negligence or not culpable in anyway will be allowed to go.
“Anybody found culpable will stay back to assist us in further investigation. The domestic workers are about eight that were brought in,” Hundeyin said.
Ifeanyi Adeleke was born on October 20, 2019, out of wedlock to Chioma Rowland and Davido.
The relationship between Chioma and Davido has been a topsy-turvy one, although recent developments appear to suggest that they’ve mended fences and are looking forward to building a home together.
In 2018, Nigerian music star, Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’banj, lost his son Daniel Jr in similar circumstances. Daniel Jr drowned in a swimming pool at the singer’s sprawling Lagos home.
