Police in Kaduna State have said that any celebrations or rallies by supporters of political parties on the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in the State is prohibited.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Kaduna Police Command spokesperson DSP Mohammed Jalige, noting that protests or celebrations against results of the elections were completely banned to prevent breakdown of law and order in the state.

He explained that security agencies have been deployed and directed to ensure full enforcement.

The statement reads in part; “The command wishes to notify the general public that all forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters for or against winners/losers of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections have been banned in the state.
