Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi, has overtaken Lagos landlord and godfather Bola Tinubu (APC), with results of two local governments yet to be declared.
There is palpable panic in Tinubu’s camp as the results continue to trickle in.
Both candidates were running neck-in-neck in the state a couple of hours ago.
Lagos is Nigeria’s commercial capital and most populous city.
Obi winning Lagos has ramifications ahead of the governorship election on March 11. Tinubu’s APC (through different name changes) has maintained a stranglehold on Lagos since Nigeria returned to civil rule in 1999.
