The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has outrightly rejected the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal judgement delivered on Friday.

The party said the judgement invalidates the mandate freely given to its Party and Candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke, by the people of Osun State in the July 16, 2022, Governorship election.

According to the opposition party, the Tribunal’s decision goes against the will of the people of Osun State.

According to a statement issued by the party’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the Governorship election in Osun State on July 16, 2022, was adjudged by local and international observers to be free, fair, transparent, and clearly won by the PDP.

“The Will of the people of Osun State as expressed by electing Governor Adeleke must be respected. As a law-abiding Party, the PDP will explore all available legal means to restore the victory of our Party,” the statement reads.

The PDP urged the people of Osun State to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of Governor Adeleke, saying, “we restate our confidence in the Institution of the Judiciary to dispense justice in this matter at the Appellate Court.”
