Benue State Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom featured in an explosive interview on The Morning Show on Arise News on Wednesday, July 29, 2022.
Ortom made damning allegations against the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, saying he had the evidence to back up his claim.
The Benue governor said the Federal Goverment is in active collaboration with the “Fulani bandits” terrorising swathes of Nigeria in pursuit of an Islamisation and fulanisation agenda. He accused the FG of “actively working with Turkey, Saudi Arabia” to achieve the aim.
Accusing the FG of complicity he said, “It is a planned agenda over 200 years ago in order to overtake the country. The Fulanis are angling to take over the country with their expansionist agenda. This is evident in our local communities and some Northern states. They are using Islam as a tool to be in control and the real agenda is not about Islam.

“Obasanjo, as an experienced statesman, warned about the Islamising and Fulanising of the country with an emphasis on Fulani supremacy. This is in order to ensure that the indigenous people have no say in the governance of the country,” he stated.
“We have a situation of propaganda whereby deceit and lies are all over the place instigated by the FG,” he said.
Speaking on his efforts towards seeking a lasting solution to the ravaging insecurity battling Benue and the immediate region, he said getting the state governors together is key to peace.

He continued, “I had provided solutions whereby we convene a security summit and all governors will talk about what is going on in their respective domains in order to redress the issue. Anyone who thinks I am not saying the truth should proffer a superior argument.”
He took it a step further, accusing the FG of having a hand in the insecurity and economic decline affecting his state.
“The Federal Government is complicit in insecurity going on in my state. The day that the federal government wants the insecurity to stop, they will call the security summit where I will present facts about what is going on,” Ortom said.
He also decried the current state of the criminal proceedings in his attempted assassination case by alleged Fulani militia in 2020. An emotional Ortom said the FG has released the initial herdsmen who were earlier arrested and have resorted to prosecuting his cousin, a Jukun fisherman.
“Even as I speak to you, the people that attacked me after a year ago, who are Fulani militia, have been freed. No culprit has been brought to book,” Ortom stated.
