Agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed on Sunday at the Ogun State collation centre for the 2023 governorship election.
The trouble began when the PDP agent, Sunkanmi Oyejide, stood up and protested the APC’s multiple representations by three agents.
Oyejide also claimed that the APC purposefully disrupted the party’s strongholds in the state in order to disenfranchise its supporters.
He said, “If you look at it very well, the ruling party disrupted the PDP strongholds and disenfranchised our members.
“We want you to take a critical look at it and investigate it. The process must be transparent.”
However, the APC agent, simply identified as Adelani, disagreed with the allegation by the PDP agent.
While resolving the disagreement, the state Independent National Electoral Returning Officer, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, asked the party to select one of the three APC agents at the center.
He also chastised the PDP agent for claiming strongholds, claiming that the rules had been followed.
Adebowale said, “We don’t recognise strongholds. The rules have been followed.”
