Tragedy struck in western Virginia as a man identified simply as Bryan Wampler, killed his wife and mother-in-law, before killing himself.
Norton police received a 911 call from a home on Highland Avenue NW on Sunday, April 10, just before noon and when officers arrived, they found two women and a man dead, Virginia State Police said in a news release on Monday, April 11.
Investigators found a firearm in the home.

Police said it appears that Bryan Wampler, 53, shot and killed his wife, Vivian Wampler, 53, and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Sturgill, 81, then fatally shot himself.
Their bodies were taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke for examination and autopsy.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, Associated Press (AP) reported.
In a related development, a senior high school principal simply identified as Warren Escosar, reportedly committed suicide after he allegedly shot to death a teacher and her husband at the Uybico Bilbao National High School in Barangay Po-ok, Hinoba-an in the Philippines in the wee hours of Tuesday, April 12.
It was gathered that Warren Escosar fatally shot Almarisa Arroy, a teacher also in the school, after killing Christopher Arroy, Almarisa’s husband.
