The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Yobe North, Bashir Machina, has stated that he has no regrets removing Senate President Ahmad Lawan from the Red Chamber, bringing an end to his long standing Senate career.
He said he has no regrets defending the mandate given to him by the people of the zone during the party’s primary election.

In a statement released by media aide Hussaini Isa Mohammed, Machina while addressing hundreds of supporters in Karasuwa and Yusufari local government areas, stated that he will provide purposeful leadership for his constituents.

He said, “I consider this a rare privilege to serve people of Yobe North and the greatest appreciation would be to provide quality service and purposeful leadership that would elevate the developmental trajectory of our dear senatorial district.”
He further stated he holds no grudges against those who conspired against him, saying he had put behind all that transpired, and urged his supporters to do same.

He continued: “I have forgiven those who ganged up against me, what the APC in the State needs now is for all stakeholders to come together for the sake of the Party.”
While at the Palace of Emir of Yusufari, Machina also assured the monarch that he will never disappoint his people regardless of the circumstances.
Machina had won court cases against the present Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, over the Yobe North Senatorial ticket.
