Angry protesters reportedly burned down a new generational bank’s ATMs in Warri, Delta State, on Wednesday in protest of the scarcity of new Naira notes.
Protests had previously erupted in the city as a result of the hardship caused by naira scarcity and fuel scarcity on the citizens.
Residents complain about being unable to access their money from the city’s various deposit banks.
The banks are said to be rejecting old notes deposit, which led to more anger.
In a viral video, the ATM is seen on fire.
While some fled for their lives as the fire broke out, other residents were observed trying to help rescue bank employees.
