Kaduna State Governor Ahmad Nasir El-Rufai and his Kogi State counterpart Yahaya Bello, are presently at the Supreme Court to monitor proceedings in a suit filed by their states against the Federal Government on the cashless policy regime and deadlines for old banknotes.
The two governors arrived the courtroom around 8:30am in the company of their followers and top government functionaries.
The Federal Government is expected to lock horns in a legal battle with three states challenging the implementation of the cashless policy introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
At the time of this report, more than 100 Senior Advocates engaged by the Federal Government and the aggrieved three states have also arrived the court to present the case of their respective clients.
The Case List of the court shows that Ondo State has teamed up with the three states in the legal battle.
A seven-member panel led by Justice John Okoro, had on February 8 halted the move of the Federal Government in a ruling in an ex-parte application brought by three northern states of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara.
