The unidentified man who opened fire at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, killing four people, has been revealed as a patient who had undergone back surgery and had repeatedly complained of pain, according to media outlet, Univision.
On Thursday, June 2, 2022, Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin announced that on May 24, the shooter at the Natalie de Saint Francis Medical Center had undergone back surgery and that his purpose was to kill the doctor who operated on him, Preston Philips, to whom he attributed the pain he suffered.
“We recovered a letter from the suspect in which he made it clear that he went with the intention of killing Dr. Phillips and anyone who got in his way,” the police chief said. “He blamed Dr. Phillips for the pain he was having after the surgery.”

After the surgical procedure, the attacker had constantly called the center, where there is an orthopedic clinic, because of his pain.
It was on May 29 that the man purchased a semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Smith and Wesson. And two days later he returned to the consultation but continued to complain of pain.
Hours before opening fire at the hospital, on June 1, the man bought an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle at a store.
He later proceeded to the clinic with both weapons and opened fire in what is the latest episode in a series of mass shootings that have occurred in the United States in recent weeks.
