A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, popularly known as Obidients not to occupy the Lekki Tollgate during its scheduled Independence Day rally in the state.
The Quest Times reports that Obidients and Labour Party supporters had earlier announced plans for what they dubbed the “Mother of all Rallies” scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 1, 2022, with take-off points from three different locations (Lekki, GRA Ikeja, Festac).

Justice Osiagor issued the order while ruling on a Motion for Injunction asking the court to restrain the LP, its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, his running mate, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman, Julius Abure and their loyalists from holding the Lagos rally.
Presiding Judge, Justice Daniel Osiagor, in his judgement on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, said supporters of the Labour Party (LP) can pass through the tollgate, but must not converge on the premises.

He further directed that the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi ensure compliance with the order.
The take-off points for the 4 million-man march are: Opposite Admiralty Gate, Lekki Phase 1, Field Beside Archbishop Vinning Memorial, GRA Ikeja, Federal Housing Authority (FHA) on 23 Road, FESTAC.
Obidient’s have also secured permits for Independence Day rallies in six other states viz; Abia, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Delta, and Osun, with an overseas rally also scheduled to take place in London, England.
