The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, on Monday asked if it is legal to convert a state-owned property to a privately-owned property.
Jandor who alleged that the location of the Television Continental (TVC) station used to be a Lagos State Polytechnic campus, made this known on Your View programme on the same TVC.
He said, “Where we are sitting right now, this TVC premises used to be a Lagos State Polytechnic property. Even if you tidy up everything and it is so legal to sell it to yourself, is it morally right?“
Television Continental Broadcasting Service, operates TVC News, TVC Nigeria, and TVC Entertainment.
The minister of state for labour and employment, Festus Keyamo, had in September revealed the real owner of Television Continental (TVC).
In a Twitter Space organised by Bola Ahmed Tinubu campaign organisation on Sunday, September 11, Keyamo, who doubles as the spokesman for the body, said the former Lagos governor owns the media outfit.
As revealed by Keyamo, Tinubu started the media company ever before Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got the license to open a private station in Adamawa.
He went on to allege that while Tinubu’s TVC is still thriving, that of Atiku has gone into a coma.
“Asiwaju started TVC after Atiku Abubakar got license to run a private TV station in Adamawa. Whilst TVC is now a global brand today Atiku’s TV station is now comatose. BAT has always managed anything and everything better than all his competitors.”
Meanwhile, Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had stunned wailers over the sources of his wealth. Tinubu pointed out that any Nigerian who was smart enough to invest a mere N1.8m in Apple Corporation shares in 1980, will be worth more than N10 trillion today.
In a Facebook post shared by Joe Igbokwe, Tinubu revealed that he became a millionaire in dollars at least 10 years before he became the governor of Lagos state.
The APC national leader disclosed that while still a NADECO chief, he was very wealthy.
“Please tell the youths the truth. I Asiwaju Tinubu was a millionaire in dollars as a NADECO chief at least 10 years before I became the governor of Lagos state. Let others openly declare the sources of their billions,” he said.
