Joy at last as the abducted Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Ekpe Ogbu, has regained his freedom.
Ogbu was kidnapped on Sunday by gunmen.
The police commissioner, CP Wale Abass, confirmed the news to journalists on Tuesday.
Ogbu was abducted alongside his driver, aide and one other on Sunday at Adankari village along Otukpo/Ado Road.
The van he was travelling in was reportedly sighted and recovered by the police in Otukpo on Monday.
Meanwhile, the abductors had demanded a ransom of N5 million, using the phone of Ogbu’s driver.
Abass only shared the news that Ogbu had been released, but did not disclose how he regained his freedom.
