JUST IN: Tinubu breaks silence on lifting of Twitter ban

National leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu on Thursday, commended the federal government for lifting the Twitter ban after 7 months.

The federal government lifted the ban placed on Twitter operations in Nigeria after the micro-blogging site agreed to strictly adhere to the terms and conditions outlined by the former.

Reacting, Bola Tinubu noted the lifting of the ban will “enable economic and social empowerment for Nigerians”.

“Social media – indeed all media – including Twitter, are a means for us to all communicate, report, share and engage with stories and each other; to enable economic and social empowerment for Nigerians. But they can be & sometime are misused.
