Former England midfielder Danny Murphy praised Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho and English attacking midfielder James Maddison after the win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Murphy stated that without Iheanacho and Maddison, the team would not have been able to come back and win with four goals for the second time in a row.
The Super Eagles star appeared once more for his team as they extended their winning streak to three games in all competitions.
Following Leicester’s rout of Tottenham at the King Power Stadium, the former Manchester City attacker found the back of the net once more for Brendan Rodgers’ team, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
Soon after Nampalys Mendy canceled Rodrigo Bentancur’s goal, Wout Faes’ tackle on Harry Kane at midfield bounced into the path of Kelechi Iheanacho, who then set up James Maddison for the goal.
Iheanacho scored Leicester’s third goal before halftime, firing a shot into the bottom corner while being contested by Tottenham defender Eric Dier.
Regarding the Super Eagles forward’s and Three Lions star’s brilliant performances on Saturday night’s show, Murphy praised their consistency.
“But the two game changers in the ruthless end of the pitch were Maddison and Iheanacho. They absolutely tore Tottenham’s defence to bits. Now we know Iheanacho is a good player, it’s his consistency, running the team. He started the game with a real intensity, a real tenacity, as they all did actually.” he said via Match of the day.
The former Fulham player added: “The great thing was Maddison playing as a ten. He had two wide men which helped him. He was always close to Iheanacho. His confidence was growing. They were all getting on the ball, enjoying themselves. Loads of space, not the Tottenham we’ve seen in recent weeks.

Ihenacho received also received praises from certain Nigerian personalities after sharing a picture of himself on social media in celebration of his goal against the Spurs.
For Brendan Rodgers’ team, the Nigerian international has scored back-to-back goals in the last three matches, including ones against Walsall, Aston Villa, and now Spurs.
The Super Eagles forward explored his Instagram feed to share his happiness with two blue love emojis, a soccer ball, an eagle, and a lion.
As a response to the post, the verified page of @cubana_chiefpriest wrote, “Owerri Owerri Owerri,” endorsing the Nigerian footballer as an Owerri native who is representing the area well in England.
Flavour, a well-known stage name of Chinedu Okoli from Nigeria, also penned “Game changer.”

Ademola Lookman, who is also having a great season for Atalanta in Serie A, remarked, “Kele.”
