Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, has challenged Nigerians who doubt the age of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to consult his mother.
Questions surrounding Tinubu’s real age, birthplace and educational qualifications have persisted since the politician served as a two-term governor of Lagos–Nigeria’s most populous, cosmopolitan state and economic nerve center.
The Quest Times reports that public records put Tinubu’s age at 70 years, as he was born on March 29, 1952.
Speaking during the presidential rally of the APC at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos on Saturday, November 26, 2022, Gbajabiamila challenged the doubters and conspiracy theorists.
The Speaker also took shots at Nigerians who doubt Tinubu’s educational qualifications, stating that Tinubu is more educated than all other frontline presidential contenders namely; Peter Obi (LP), Atiku Abubakar (PDP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (NNPP) and other presidential candidates combined.

Gbajabiamila said; “Tinubu is the greatest politician in modern-day Nigerian politics. He is the age his mother says he is. And if they doubt his age, they should go and meet his mother to reconfirm. They would tell you that ‘but they said he didn’t go to school’. Tell them that I, Femi Gbajabiamila, says he is more educated than all the contestants put together.
“But they said they want him in America? Please don’t argue with them. Tell them that the Americans have said repeatedly that they do not know what they are talking about. But they say he is corrupt. Tell them that he is the most investigated presidential candidate in the history of Nigeria and nothing has been found on him.
“When they ask about a Muslim Vice President, tell them that God is moving mysteriously in ways they cannot understand.”
In recent times, Tinubu’s alleged senility has dominated social media discourse, as Nigerians and opposition figures continue to point to his frequent gaffes, speech impairment and incoherence on the campaign trail and on stomp grounds.
