A former Commissioner of Information in Kaduna State, Alhaji Saidu Adamu, has disclosed how they paid terrorists N100 million to allow the people in his local government to engage in farming activities.
Adamu, in an exclusive chat with Quest Times, said the payment was necessary in view of the fact that the terrorists have taken control of over 100 communities within the local government.
He said the terrorists have become so emboldened, walking freely with AK-47 rifles, and even leading prayers in Mosques across the captured communities.
“Four electoral wards like Kuyelo,Tabanni, Kazage and Kutemeshi have been under the rulership of terrorists. All communities under these wards have been under the leadership of the terrorists.
“The terrorists are the ones leading prayers in Mosques. They are now Imams. They are in full control. Our people have been forced to enter into a truce with the terrorists and are loyal to the terrorists as part of survival measures.

“Our people have been suffering for over seven years and the government does not care. Hundreds of communities are under the full control of the terrorists. In my western zone (Kakangi and Randagi wards) we paid over N100 million to the terrorists to allow our people farm on their own land.
“Every day, my People are being killed, my people in Birnin Gwari have been on their own. No government presence.
“President Buhari and Governor El-rufai have completely abandoned the people of Birnin Gwari. The peopleof Birnin Gwari are left alone at the mercy of terrorists. We are on our own, we have so many refugees, we are left alone to contribute money for our people in the villages.
“The governor does not even condone our people any longer, his administration does not care about the thousands of IDPs in Birnin Gwari.”
Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, had raised the alarm that terrorists have formed a parallel government in some parts of the state.
The governor, who made this known in a memo issued to President Muhammadu Buhari, said members of the Jama’atu Ansarul Musulmina Fi’biladis Sudan, popularly known as Ansaru, are hibernating in Kuyelo district of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the State.
El-Rufai in the memo, alerted the president that the terrorists are exercising control over social and economic activities and dispensation of justice in the area, where they are believed to have established a “permanent operational base.”
