An Ekiti salesboy has unwittingly landed in custody after he wrote his boss a letter promising to kidnap him if N1.5 million wasn’t paid to him.
Tobiloba Olayinka had written an anonymous letter to his boss directing him to pay the money into a bank account provided or risk kidnap.
Before the 21-year-old could realise what was going on, he was already in custody.
Here’s how he narrated the ordeal:
“I didn’t mean to kidnap him. I thought the threat would give me money. My intention was only to collect money to celebrate Christmas. That was why I wrote the letter threatening to kidnap my boss. I later sent the account where the N1.5m would be paid. The money was not paid before I was arrested.”
