The Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, barred a former presidential candidate and publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore and his entourage from gaining access to the Federal High Court to observe the arraignment of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
Sowore arrived at the court on Wednesday morning but was prevented by DSS operatives from accessing the premises because his name wasn’t on the list of approved court observers.

In a bid to restore order, the security operatives began to fire live ammunition into the air, creating an environment of fear and disarray.
