The Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Atiku Abubakar 2023 Presidential project, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has vowed to go butt naked if his candidate doesn’t cede power to the southeast region, after completing his term in 2027.
Atiku, who lost the 2019 presidential election to President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, intends to throw his hat into the 2023 presidential ring for the umpteenth time and from the PDP platform.
Speaking in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, on Monday, January 24, 2022, Dokpesi promised that if the southeast region takes Atiku to Aso Rock in 2023, Atiku would vacate office for a Nigerian President of southeast extraction after four years, and won’t go for a second term in office.
Should this fail to materialise, Dokpesi has promised to hit the streets in a one-man protest–and stark naked as well.
“Atiku is the surest bet; he is the shortest cut to a southeast presidency. The truth is that he will be about 80 years then. We only need him to rescue Nigeria now.
“We are confronted with heavy challenges as a nation. Once we lay the foundation for restructuring and for pushing Nigeria forward, then he will exit. He is not coming because he is hungry but he has an agenda, and the agenda is Nigeria.
“We are in a grave situation in Nigeria. We need to unite. We need to take power from these impostors that have seized power and ran Nigeria aground.
“If I’m alive till then I will go naked in a one-man march if southeast is not given the presidency. I will put my life on the line. I will never be silent,” the DAAR Communications/AIT founder said.
The Igbo-speaking southeastern region is yet to produce a civilian president since Nigeria returned to democratic governance in 1999.
