The Court of Appeal Abuja division has set aside the judgment of the FCT High Court which invalidated the Kano state ward and local government congresses.
The court, which upheld all the three appeals filed by the faction of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, held that the lower court lacked jurisdiction to try the case.
By this Judgment, the leadership of the party is now under the control of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

It also held that the case was not a pre-election matter but an internal matter of the ruling party, therefore should be decided by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The ruling APC in Kano had split into factions with one faction loyal to Governor Umar Ganduje while the other was being led by the former State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.
Although the national leadership of the APC at the center had intervened, the aggrieved parties are yet to settle.
