A building has collapsed on Sonuga street in the Mushin area of Lagos, making it the third such collapse in the space of a month in the State.
Nosa Okunbor, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the development on Friday.
“A building has collapsed in Mushin few minutes ago. The rescue operation is ongoing,” he said.

In Lagos, news of building collapses are now commonplace.
Recently, six bodies were recovered after a seven-storey building under construction collapsed in the state.
Two weeks after the incident, the authorities are yet to identify and arrest the developer and others.
In November 2021, at least 44 people died when a high-rise building crumbled in highbrow Ikoyi.
In May 2022, eight bodies were recovered after a three-storey building collapsed in Ebute-Metta.
In the same month, another building in the Ago Palace Way area of Lagos State, collapsed.
In August, there was another building collapse leading to the death of two children in the Bariga area of the State.
