The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has described the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyiorchia Ayu, as a corrupt person.
He made this known during a media chat today in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
According to Wike, Ayu collected money from a businessman in Lagos to influence the party’s presidential primary election.

Wike said: “Ayu is corrupt. Will he deny the fact that he collected N1billion from Lagos?
“A PDP Presidential aspirant gave Ayu N1billion in Lagos and Ayu did not put the money in the PDP account but his personal pocket. I challenge Ayu to deny this so I can name the person that gave him the money.”
The Governor challenged Ayu to deny the allegation that he made the party primaries transactional.
Wike also said he will name more instances of the cunning deeds of the former Senate President and why he should not continue as national party Chairman.
Wiked added that; “There was nothing Ayu didn’t do. Manipulation of delegates list during the convention… etc.
“A whole national chairman threatened some of the presidential aspirants at that time that if Wike wins, he was going to resign.”
Wike also alleged that Ayu is in bed with Atiku for obvious reasons.
“Ayu wants to be in power so that when PDP wins, he can be Secretary to the Govt of the Federation. The same thing for Saraki. They have already shared the positions,” he alleged.
