Wanted for a whopping N435 billion, Nyesom Wike’s anointed candidate and Accountant-General, Siminialayi Fubara, has clinched the Rivers State Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, governorship ticket in style.
News of Fubara being on the run following the declaration by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of a N435 billion fraud case, went viral days after the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, was similarly arrested for an N80 billion fraud allegation.
Fubara polled 721 votes to defeat Mr Isaac Kamalu, a former Commissioner for Finance in the state to win a landslide victory.
The emergence of Fubara has been greeted with mixed reactions on social media, questioning the report declaring the AG wanted while he was physically present at the venue he was declared winner by officials of the Independent National Electoral Comission, INEC.
