Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was a signature away from becoming Real Madrid’s head coach last summer but opted for the Old Lady.
The stunning revelation was revealed by his agent, Giovanni Branchini in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
Real Madrid were in the market for a manager last summer following the departure of serial Champions League winner, Zinedine Zidane.

“Allegri was one step away from being appointed as Real Madrid’s new coach in May. Everything was done,” according to Branchini
“The deal was done. He just had to sign the contract. Then he opted to sign for Juventus.”
Real Madrid opted for another Italian and ex-manager in Carlo Ancelotti, whilst Allegri himself returned to Juventus in July 2021.
According to Gazello dello Sport, Madrid President, Florentino Perez offered Allegri a two-year deal worth 10m euros a year, with an option for a third year.
