Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) has for the umpteenth time vowed to end the petrol subsidy regime if elected President next month.
Tinubu revealed this today in Lagos during a meeting with business executives.
The APC presidential candidate declared that money once used for gasoline subsidies will now be used for things like public health, physical policy, and infrastructure.
He said: “We must remove the PMS subsidy immediately. We will redirect funds to public infrastructure, health, and affordable infrastructure.
“Physical policy will be the main driver, we must steadily move out budget from dollar-dominated oil revenue.”
Nigeria expends heavily on fuel subsidies yearly, a situation that some stakeholders have described as fraudulent.
