After previous failed reconciliation attempts, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), agreed to meet on Wednesday in Abuja, an official told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The official noted that the all-important meeting is in preparation for the flag-off of the presidential campaign of the party.
Sources close to the party said Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, will use the opportunity to discuss their strategies with the party’s leadership ahead of the campaign.
This is coming after the party’s post-primary reconciliation efforts seemed to have broken down on several occasions.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, ahead of the meeting.
