AFCON: 8 teams that qualify for knockout stages; other best third-placed teams

The Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, 2021 has been filled with a lot of surprises and intrigues, especially with the shocking elimination of the heavyweight teams — Ghana and Algeria from the tournament.

QUEST TIMES takes a look at the qualified teams for AFCON 2021 last 16:

  1. Group A:

    Cameroon (Winners) Burkina-Faso (Runners-up)

  2. Group B:

    Senegal (Winners) Guinea (Runners-up)

  3. Group C:

    Morocco (Winners) Gabon (Runners-up)

  4. Group D:

    Nigeria (Winners) Egypt (Runners-up)

  5. Group E:

    Ivory Coast (Winners) Eq. Guinea (Runners-up)

  6. Group F:

    Mali (Winners) Gambia (Runners-up)

The following are best third-placed teams:

Cape Verde, Malawi, Tunisia and Comoros ended up finishing in the best third-place finish spots the end of the group stage.
