Osun State Governor, aka the ‘dancing Senator’, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the immediate freezing of Osun State accounts shortly after taking oath as the sixth executive Governor of the State.
The newly sworn-in governor has also reversed all appointments made by his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola, from July 7, 2022, until he left office.
He said he would raise a committee to review all appointments and make recommendations.

This comes on the heels of Oyetola’s appointment of 30 permanent secretaries, hours to the end of his tenure.
Adeleke has also changed the name of Osun from “The State of Virtues” to “The State of the Living Spring”.
After taking his oath of office at the Osogbo City Stadium, Adeleke said that he was aware of Osun residents’ expectations and promised not to disappoint them.
Among other things, he promised to transform education, security, healthcare, infrastructure, local government administration, the judiciary, and public service.
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential Candidate; Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Atiku’s running mate; Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP National Chairman; and former Senate President Bukola Saraki were among those present at the swearing-in ceremony.
