The Governor of Anambra, Professor Charles Soludo has said supporters of the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, only posed threats to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and not to his party All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Soludo made this known in a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, who said Obi and his supporters were offshoots of the PDP.
While declaring support for, Professor Peter Umeadi, the presidential candidate of APGA, the Anambra governor claimed that APGA remained the third-largest political party in the country.
“APGA remains the third largest political party in Nigeria, considering the number of political offices it has won.
“APGA has a state governor, members of the National Assembly and members of the state assemblies.

“APGA does not consider the wave of the ‘Obidient Movement’ as a threat towards achieving its set goals in 2023.
“The LP and the ‘Obidient Movement’ are offshoots of the PDP. Therefore, they pose a big threat to PDP, not APGA,” the statement partly read.
Soludo has been in the news recently following his remarks on the achievements of one of his predecessors, Obi in Anambra.
Responding to a question on Thursday, November 10, 2022, as a guest on Channels TV’s Politics Today on the current worth of the investments made by Obi, Soludo dismissed them, saying that they are worth next to nothing — a development that stirred mixed reactions on social media.
