Both politicians are in the race to become the next president when President Muhammadu Buhari completes his second term in office in May 2023.
Amid calls for the duo to form an alliance as an alternative for Nigerians besides the two major political parties – All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party chairman wants Kwankwaso to accept to be Peter Obi’s running mate.
This was disclosed in a tweet by the Labour Party on Tuesday.
“The truth of the matter is that it is in the interest of Kwankwaso to take the Vice Presidency. Peter Obi is the man of the moment. He has the credentials and he is the most popular presidential candidate as we speak today,” the national chairman was quoted as saying.
