2023: I did not endorse Tinubu – AfDB President, Akinwunmi Adesina

The President of African Development Bank(AfDB), Akinwunmi Adesina, has taken to the rooftops to deny supporting Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

A now-viral statement attributed to the banker says: “If Senator Bola Tinubu could make Lagos the 5th richest economy in Africa and the safest State in Nigeria then be sure that he will as Nigeria President.”

Responding to the statement, Adesina’s communications adviser, Victor Oladokun, has described as “untrue, mischievous and fraudulent” claims that Adesina has endorsed Bola Tinubu for president.

According to him, “For the avoidance of doubt, no such statement or endorsement has been made by the President of AfDB.”
